Sheaa Amin
About
Sheaa Amin is the Senior Communications Manager for Government Relations at Rutgers University. In this role, she leads strategic messaging, digital platforms, and outreach initiatives across the university’s federal and state advocacy efforts, as well as the Rutgers Scarlet Service programs. With a strong background in public affairs, Ms. Amin shapes cohesive communications that elevate the university’s research, academic, and economic impact among state legislators, the Governor’s Office, and New Jersey’s Congressional delegation.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Amin served as the Director of Communications for New Jersey Legislative District 11, supporting Senator Vin Gopal, Assemblywoman Margie Donlon, M.D., and Assemblywoman Luanne Peterpaul, Esq. In this capacity, she developed and executed comprehensive strategic communication plans to promote legislative initiatives and elevate the lawmakers' public profiles. She managed digital branding and media relations across multiple platforms, achieving significant growth in community engagement. Notably, her work during the highly competitive 2023 LD11 campaign earned her recognition as a "2023 Staffer of the Year" by the New Jersey Globe.
Ms. Amin is a proud Rutgers alumna, having graduated from the Honors College, School of Arts and Sciences, and Douglass Residential College with a bachelor’s degree in political science. During her undergraduate tenure, she was an Institute for Women's Leadership Scholar, an Eagleton Undergraduate Associate, a Lloyd C. Gardner Fellow, and president of Cap and Skull. Her foundational experience includes internships with the NJ Assembly Majority Office, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Center for American Women and Politics, and the Biden for President 2020 campaign.
