Sonya Abrams

About
Sonya Abrams is the Senior Program Coordinator for the Rutgers Scarlet Service in Washington, DC (RSS-DC) program. Sonya joined the Federal Relations team in May of 2023 with the launch of the first RSS-DC cohort that summer. RSS-DC provides meaningful, public service summer internship experiences to select Rutgers students while they intern at non-profit and government offices for a summer in DC. As the program coordinator, Sonya manages the program year-round, including the application cycle in the fall, student internship search process in the spring, and hosting professional development and volunteer service events for the cohort over the summer.
Previously, Sonya has worked on several political campaigns in New Jersey, for the Stanford Government Affairs team in Washington, DC, and interned on Capitol Hill.
Sonya received her bachelor’s in political science from Rutgers-New Brunswick.
